2022-11-01 | Resolução BCB 256Added
Resolution BCB No. 256 regulates the Available Electronic Transfer (TED) by defining it as an interbank fund transfer order and establishing that institutions holding Reserve Bank or Settlement Accounts may choose the settlement system, except for transfers involving the institution's own funds, capital market applications, amounts equal to or exceeding BRL 1,000,000, or government tax remittances, which must use the Reserve Transfer System (STR). The resolution mandates that transferred funds be credited to the beneficiary within 60 minutes of interbank settlement and requires specific identification data for both sender and recipient. It also imposes security obligations on institutions and IT service providers, including a restriction on providers connecting via IT Service Providers for client transfers of BRL 15,000 or more unless specific security assurances are met, and revokes several prior circulars.
