Resolution CMN No. 3171 permits the free movement of fixed-income securities in repo operations registered and financially settled within the same clearing house or authorized settlement service provider acting as a contracting party. It amends Articles 1 and 2 of the Regulation annexed to Resolution 2,950 of 2002 to restrict non-institutional client repos settled outside these authorized entities to securities of definitive ownership by the seller, and to limit such operations and forward purchase/sale commitments to securities issued by the National Treasury or the Central Bank of Brazil, unless free movement is expressly agreed upon for specific eligible securities.
Regulates the realization of repo operations governed by the Regulation annexed to Resolution 2,950 of 2002.
