Resolution No. 0943-99: Updating the Catalog, Financial Statements, Grouping Rules, Annexes and Complementary Reports of the Accounting Manual for Companies in the Financial System

The Superintendent of Banking and Insurance

WHEREAS:

That, by Resolution SBS No. 895-98 of 1 September 1998, the Accounting Manual for Companies in the Financial System, hereinafter the Accounting Manual, was approved;

That, said Resolution provided that the Accounting Manual would be effective as of 1 January of the year 2000, repealing as of that same date the Chart of Accounts for Financial Institutions approved by Resolution SBS No. 1256-92 of 23 October 1992 and its amending and/or complementary rules, hereinafter the Chart of Accounts;

That, subsequently, by Resolution SBS No. 334-99 of 7 May 1999, this Superintendency approved the extension of the entry into force of the Accounting Manual as of 1 January 2001, together with the corresponding extension of the validity of the Chart of Accounts, except for those companies that are in a position to adapt their accounting and computer systems in the current year and, consequently, may apply the Accounting Manual as of 1 January of the year 2000;

That, literal a) of article fourth of Resolution SBS No. 334-99 provided that companies that may apply the Accounting Manual as of 1 January of the year 2000 must prepare and submit to this Superintendency, as of 30 September of the year 1999, the Financial Statements, Annexes and Reports in accordance with the Catalog and formats established both in the Accounting Manual and in the Chart of Accounts, in force at the date of their submission;

That, this Superintendency has considered it appropriate to update the Catalog, Financial Statements, Grouping Rules, Annexes and Complementary Reports contained in the Accounting Manual, in order to adapt them to the regulations issued by this Superintendency after the approval of the said Accounting Manual;

That, the Accounting Manual applies to multiple-operation companies, financial leasing companies, factoring companies and others expressly designated by this Superintendency, hereinafter companies;

Having heard the opinion of the Deputy Superintendencies of Banking and Legal Affairs, as well as the Economic Studies Management; and,

In use of the powers conferred by numerals 7, 9 and 13 of article 349 of the General Law of the Financial System and the Insurance System and Organic Law of the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance, Law No. 26702, as amended by Laws No. 27008 and No. 27102;

RESOLVES:

Article One.- To approve the update of the Catalog, Financial Statements, Grouping Rules, Annexes and Complementary Reports contained in the Accounting Manual approved by Resolution SBS No. 895-98 of 1 September 1998, in accordance with the annexes that form an integral part of this Resolution and which are detailed below:

a) Numeral 3 of literal B "Scope", of Chapter I "General Provisions" (Annex I). b) Literal J "Nomenclature of Accounts for Companies in the Financial System and Related Entities", of Chapter I "General Provisions" (Annex II). c) Literal D "Models of Financial Statements and Trial Balance of Balances", of Chapter II "Financial Statements for Presentation to the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance and for Publication" (Annex III). d) Chapter III "Chart of Accounts" (Annex IV). e) Chapter V "Annexes and Reports to the Financial Statements" (Annex V).

Article Two.- To extend until 31 October of the current year the deadline for preparing and submitting the information indicated in literal a) of article fourth of Resolution SBS No. 334-99.

Article Three.- This Resolution enters into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
