The Superintendent of Banking and Insurance

WHEREAS:

That, by means of SBS Resolution No. 895-98 of 01 September 1998, the Accounting Manual for Companies of the Financial System, hereinafter the Accounting Manual, was approved;

That, said Resolution provided for the Accounting Manual to be in force as of 01 January of the year 2000, leaving without effect the Chart of Accounts for Financial Institutions, approved by means of SBS Resolution No. 1256-92 of 23 October 1992 and its amending and/or supplementary rules, hereinafter the Chart of Accounts;

That, by means of SBS Resolution No. 334-99 of 07 May 1999, this Superintendency approved the extension of the entry into force of the Accounting Manual until 01 January 2001, together with the corresponding extension of the force of the Chart of Accounts, except for those companies that were in a position to adapt their accounting and computer systems for the present fiscal year and, consequently, to apply the Accounting Manual as of 01 January of the year 2000;

That, the third and fourth articles of SBS Resolution No. 334-99 provided obligations for the implementation of the Accounting Manual for the companies that avail themselves of the extension and for those that apply the Accounting Manual as of 01 January of the year 2000, respectively;

That, subsequently, by means of SBS Resolution No. 943-99 of 20 October 1999, this Superintendency considered it appropriate to update the Catalog, Financial Statements, Grouping Rules, Annexes and Reports contained in the Accounting Manual, in order to adapt them to the regulations issued by this Superintendency after the approval of the Manual;

That, by means of SBS Resolution No. 1053-99 of 30 November 1999, the Regulation for the Classification, Valuation and Provisions of Investments of Companies of the Financial System was approved;

That, this Superintendency has considered it appropriate to update Chapter I "General Provisions", Chapter II "Financial Statements, Periodicity and Submission Deadlines", Chapter III "Chart of Accounts", and Chapter IV "Description and Dynamics of Accounts" of the Accounting Manual, in order to adapt them to the regulations issued after the last update of the Accounting Manual;

That, the Accounting Manual applies to multiple-operation companies, financial leasing companies, factoring companies, fiduciary services companies and others indicated by this Superintendency, hereinafter companies;

In accordance with the opinion of the Deputy Superintendencies of Banking and Legal Advisory, as well as of the Economic Studies Management; and,

In use of the powers conferred by numerals 9 and 13 of article 349 of the General Law of the Financial System and the Insurance System and Organic Law of the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance, Law No. 26702, amended by Laws No. 27008 and No. 27102;

RESOLVES:

Article One.- To approve the update of Chapter I "General Provisions", Chapter II "Financial Statements, Periodicity and Submission Deadlines", Chapter III "Chart of Accounts" and Chapter IV "Description and Dynamics of Accounts", contained in the Accounting Manual approved by means of SBS Resolution No. 895-98 of 01 September 1998 and its amending and/or supplementary rules, which form an integral part of this Resolution.

Article Two.- This Superintendency shall timely issue the Annexes and Reports to the financial statements, the rules for the submission of the information necessary for the monitoring and control of the implementation of the Accounting Manual, as well as make available to the companies the respective software for the electronic transfer of the corresponding information.

Article Three.- This Resolution enters into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
