SAR Narrative Guidance Package
FinCEN issued a guidance package to assist financial institutions in preparing Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) forms and improving the quality of SAR narratives. The package includes guidance on organizing narratives, a PowerPoint presentation on reporting requirements, and suggestions for enhancing narrative writing. Financial institution compliance officers and law enforcement officials may download these presentations to complement Bank Secrecy Act training programs, with the ability to omit slides not applicable to their specific institution type.
