SFD Circular Letter No. 01: Provide necessary assistance to the victims to prevent the risk of the country's coronavirus infection

The Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank directs all scheduled banks to implement immediate health safety measures for staff and customers, including installing thermal scanners, providing hand sanitizers, masks, and gloves, and maintaining regular disinfection of branches and ATMs. Banks are urged to collaborate with government hospitals and health complexes to supply coronavirus prevention kits and medical supplies, utilizing their CSR funds to support vulnerable patients. Additionally, banks are instructed to allocate their statutory Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget for the current year, specifically the 20% health sector allocation and up to 40% from other sectors, toward coronavirus-related expenses, reporting these under the 'Health' sub-sector as per the format issued in Circular Letter No. 06 dated June 10, 2015. These instructions are effective immediately.
