SR 21-4: Inactive or Revised SR Letters Related to the Federal Reserve’s Supervisory Expectations for a Firm’s Boards of Directors

The Federal Reserve issued this letter to announce the results of a review of existing supervisory expectations for the boards of directors of domestic bank and savings and loan holding companies. The Board revised twelve supervisory letters, made nine inactive, and retained six without change to better align guidance with core board responsibilities and distinguish them from senior management duties. Firms are instructed not to rely on manual content for board expectations during the interim period while the Federal Reserve updates its examination manuals.
