Stock Exchanges Control Act 1 of 1985

The President issued this Act to consolidate and regulate stock exchanges, stock-brokers, and carriers against shares. It empowers the Registrar of Stock Exchanges to issue licences, enforce financial and administrative requirements, and restrict unlicensed trading activities. The legislation further mandates strict standards for securities custody, bear sales, and information disclosure to protect public interest and ensure market integrity.
