The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued six new credit modules of the Supervisory Policy Manual to regulate authorized institutions' lending practices. Five modules, including those on interest recognition, collateral, connected lending, problem credit management, and credit derivatives, were established as statutory guidelines, while the syndicated lending module was issued as a guidance note. Institutions are required to immediately review their practices to comply with minimum standards and monitor best practices, with compliance enforced through regular off-site and on-site examinations.
