The FDIC provides regulatory relief to all FDIC-supervised financial institutions in affected areas of the Northern Mariana Islands, including Rota Municipality, following Super Typhoon Bavi. Institutions are encouraged to adjust existing loan terms without criticism, may receive favorable Community Reinvestment Act consideration for disaster recovery activities, and can request expedited approval for temporary banking facilities. The FDIC will evaluate acceptable delays in filing Reports of Income and Condition upon notification to the San Francisco Regional Office and considers disaster-related difficulties in complying with publishing requirements for branch closures or relocations.
