The National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that demand for loans from large and medium-sized businesses increased in Q2 2026, while lending activity for small and micro businesses remained unchanged. Loan approval rates rose to 65% for large businesses, 39% for medium-sized businesses, and 33% for small businesses. Demand for retail lending products, including mortgage, secured and unsecured consumer loans, and car loans, also increased during the same period, with approval rates rising across all retail categories. The survey, conducted by the National Bank, involved 21 second-tier banks.
