Suspicious Activity Report by Insurance Companies

FinCEN requests public comment on the renewal without change of the information collection requirement for FinCEN Form 108, the Suspicious Activity Report by Insurance Companies (SAR-IC). Although the SAR-IC is currently on hold due to database technical difficulties, insurance companies are instructed to use the Suspicious Activity Report by the Securities and Futures Industries (SAR-SF, FinCEN Form 101) in the interim. The renewal covers the reporting obligations under 31 CFR 103.16, which require insurance companies to report suspicious transactions to protect against money laundering and terrorist financing.
