Regulation on the Application of Guidelines on the Management of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Risks
The Bank of Slovenia issues this regulation to formally apply the European Banking Authority's Guidelines on the management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks within its jurisdiction. It mandates that supervised banks and the Bank itself, acting as the competent authority, must fully incorporate these ESG risk management standards into their governance arrangements and supervisory practices. The regulation enters into force in June 2025, with general application starting in January 2026 and a delayed deadline of January 2027 for small and non-complex banks.
