Assessment of Civil Money Penalty in the Matter of Oppenheimer & Company, Inc.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network assesses a civil money penalty of $2,800,000 against Oppenheimer & Company, Inc. for violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, including failures to maintain an adequate anti-money laundering program and to file timely, complete suspicious activity reports. The penalty is satisfied by a single payment of $1,400,000 to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and $1,400,000 to the New York Stock Exchange, payable within ten business days of the assessment.
