The Hong Kong Monetary Authority notifies authorized institutions of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision's revised Pillar 3 disclosure requirements issued on 28 January 2015. These revised standards aim to strengthen the regulatory disclosure framework by enhancing transparency and comparability, particularly regarding internal model-based capital calculations, and are scheduled to take effect by the end of 2016. The HKMA intends to implement these requirements through amendments to the Banking (Disclosure) Rules and strongly recommends that institutions study the new standards and prepare for necessary system changes.
