CA 16-3: Revised Interagency Examination Procedures for Regulation P
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System issued this letter to update interagency examination procedures for Regulation P to incorporate amendments from the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act. The revised procedures establish an exception to the annual privacy notice requirement for financial institutions that solely share nonpublic personal information under specific GLBA provisions and have not changed their disclosure policies. Examiners are instructed to apply these changes when assessing compliance with privacy notice obligations for all state member banks supervised by the Federal Reserve.
