Privacy of Consumer Financial Information—Amendment To Conform Regulations to the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission adopted amendments to 17 CFR Part 160 to implement the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act’s exception to the annual privacy notice requirement for Covered Persons. These revisions exempt entities from providing annual notices if they do not share nonpublic personal information beyond specified exceptions and have not changed their privacy policies. The rule establishes a framework requiring Covered Persons to resume annual notice delivery within 100 days if they cease to meet the exception conditions.
