The Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight extends temporary registration relief for associated persons of futures commission merchants, introducing brokers, commodity pool operators, and commodity trading advisors whose registration requirements arise solely from swaps activity or ICE/NYMEX contracts. The filing deadline for registration applications, including Form 8-R and fingerprint cards, is extended from December 31, 2012, to March 31, 2013. After this date, these persons must make a good faith effort to comply with applicable regulations as if registered. The relief terminates upon NFA registration notice or five days after a disqualification notice.
