CFTC Whistleblower Awards Process Proposed Rulemaking
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission proposes amendments to its whistleblower program regulations to enhance the review process for award claims and clarify staff authority. The proposal replaces the Whistleblower Award Determination Panel with a Claims Review Staff and reinterprets anti-retaliation authority under the Commodity Exchange Act. Additionally, the Commission seeks to extend the timeframe for original source eligibility and allow awards for both covered and related enforcement actions.
