Investment fund administrators and financial institutions acting as fund share distributors must remit monthly information regarding unitholders starting in June 2020 using Document 5401 and Document 5402. These submissions require specific data on fund identification, net asset value, share quantities, and unitholder classifications, with a submission deadline of the fifth business day following the month-end base date. Financial institutions authorized but not currently acting as distributors must register a waiver in the Document Remittance Control System, while those commencing such activities must register an end date and begin submitting Document 5402 from the subsequent base date. The regulation mandates that institutions designate an employee to answer inquiries regarding the provided information and utilizes the Electronic File Transfer System for XML-based electronic transmission.
