The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation jointly amended their Community Reinvestment Act regulations to update asset-size thresholds for small and intermediate small banks. Reflecting a 4.06 percent annual increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, the revised thresholds raise the small bank limit to $1.564 billion and the intermediate small bank floor to $391 million. These formula-driven technical adjustments, which bypass standard notice-and-comment procedures, take effect on January 1, 2024.
