CVM Instruction No. 199 of June 23, 1993

CVM INSTRUCTION NO. 199, OF JUNE 23, 1993.

Permits the acquisition, by equity investment mutual funds and free portfolio equity investment mutual funds, of deposit certificates issued by companies headquartered in countries signatory to the Treaty of Asunción - MERCOSUL.

The PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION makes public that the Collegiate Board, in a session held on this date, based on Article 3 of Resolution CMN No. 1,787, of 01.02.91.

RESOLVED:

Art. 1
Equity investment mutual funds may acquire deposit certificates issued by companies headquartered in countries signatory to the Treaty of Asunción, admitted to public trading in the country, within the limits established by CVM Instruction No. 148, of 03.07.91, the prohibition contained in item "a", item VII, Article 43 of the aforementioned Instruction No. 148 not applying for this purpose.

Art. 2
Free portfolio equity investment mutual funds may acquire the certificates referred to in Art. 1, the prohibition contained in item "a", item VII, Article 41 of CVM Instruction No. 177, of 06.02.92, not applying for this purpose.

Art. 3
This Instruction enters into force on the date of its publication.
