CVM INSTRUCTION NO. 261, OF APRIL 25, 1997.

Amends the provisions of Article 21 of CVM Instruction No. 89, of November 8, 1988, which provides for authorization to provide bookkeeping services for securities, custody of securities, and as an issuing agent for certificates.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION - CVM makes public that the Collegiate Board, in a session held on this date, and based on the provisions of Articles 8 and 24 of Law No. 6,385, of December 7, 1976, and Resolution No. 1,787, of February 1, 1991, of the National Monetary Council, resolved to issue the following Instruction:

Art. 1. Article 21 of CVM Instruction No. 89, of November 8, 1988, with the wording given by CVM Instruction No. 212, of May 6, 1994, shall enter into force with the following wording:

“Art. 21. The provisions of this Instruction shall apply, where applicable, to the provision of bookkeeping services for securities, as well as to quotas of investment funds regulated and supervised by the CVM.”

Art. 2. This Instruction shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Union.
