The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) implements permanent restrictions on the marketing, distribution, or sale of turbos to retail clients in the Netherlands, including a leverage cap and prohibitions on providing prohibited benefits. Licensed Maltese investment firms and credit institutions providing services to Dutch retail clients must apply these restrictive measures from 7 August 2021 onwards. The MFSA expects licensed entities to verify if turbos are part of their offerings and to enforce the AFM's national measures for affected clients.
