FINRA Adopts Limited Exception for Overnight Equity Trade Reporting Prior to 8:00 a.m. ET
FINRA has adopted a temporary exception to FINRA Rules 6380A and 6380B allowing qualifying overnight transactions to be reported by 8:15 a.m. ET instead of the standard ten-second deadline. This exception applies to trades appended with the .W modifier that result from overnight batch processes or involve ETF shares based on net asset values published after TRF closure. The rule change becomes effective on March 30, 2026, and expires on December 31, 2027, or upon further extension of TRF operating hours.
