Investment Adviser Codes of Ethics

The Securities and Exchange Commission adopts new rule 204A-1 and related amendments to require registered investment advisers to adopt written codes of ethics. These codes must establish standards of conduct, address conflicts from personal trading, and mandate that access persons report personal securities holdings and transactions to the chief compliance officer. The rule also amends recordkeeping requirements under rule 204-2 and client disclosure obligations under Form ADV to include descriptions of the codes of ethics. The rule becomes effective on August 31, 2004, with a compliance date of January 7, 2005.
