IOEAMA UNSCR Ref SC16446 ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida

The United Nations Security Council Committee amended entries for two individuals, Sanaullah Ghafari and Abubakar Swalleh, on the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List on 4 September 2026, as detailed in press release SC16446. All licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas are required to immediately determine if they hold or control funds or assets of, or provide services to, any identified person or entity, and to freeze such assets without delay or prior notice. They must also refrain from making any funds, assets, or services available to these individuals and report any matches or suspected matches to the Commission using the Targeted Financial Sanctions Reporting Form. Failure to submit required reports constitutes an offence punishable by a fine not exceeding $250,000.00, and non-compliant licensees and registrants may face disciplinary action including a minimum daily fine of $200.00.
