Movie producer Wong Pak Ming sentenced to jail and fined in SFC’s insider dealing prosecution
The West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court sentenced movie producer Wong Pak Ming to five months of imprisonment and a fine of $99,720 for insider dealing in Pegasus Entertainment Holdings Limited shares. Wong was also ordered to pay the Securities and Futures Commission’s investigation costs of $374,305.48 for misusing non-public information to advise his sister on trading timing and price. The court granted him bail pending appeal subject to a $200,000 cash bail, residence restrictions, and a requirement to notify the SFC 24 hours prior to leaving Hong Kong.
