Technical Standards for Reporting Guaranteed Deposits

Banks, savings and credit societies, and cooperative banks in El Salvador must report guaranteed and non-guaranteed deposits to the Deposit Guarantee Institute and the Financial System Superintendency by the tenth business day of each month. The Agricultural Development Bank and foreign bank branches are exempt if they prove equivalent foreign coverage. Reporting must use Annexes 1 through 8, expressing balances in United States dollars, and include designated responsible persons. Non-compliance is sanctioned under the Law on Supervision and Regulation of the Financial System. These standards replaced NPB4-22 and entered into force on December 1, 2016.
