Extension of Comment Period for Proposed Revisions to Prohibitions and Restrictions on Proprietary Trading and Certain Interests in, and Relationships With, Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds

The OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, SEC, and CFTC jointly extended the public comment period for their July 2018 proposed rulemaking regarding Section 13 of the Bank Holding Company Act, commonly known as the Volcker Rule. This extension responds to public requests for additional time to analyze the proposed amendments intended to clarify prohibited proprietary trading activities and hedge fund relationships. The comment period is extended by 30 days, closing on October 17, 2018, instead of the original September 17, 2018 deadline.
