Financial Data Transparency Act Joint Data Standards
Nine U.S. financial regulatory agencies issued a final joint rule to establish standardized data formats for interoperability as mandated by the Financial Data Transparency Act of 2022. The rule specifies common identifiers, including the Legal Entity Identifier and Unique Product Identifier, alongside requirements for machine-readable schemas and nonproprietary data transmission formats. These joint standards serve as a foundation for subsequent agency-specific rulemakings that will adopt the standards for particular regulatory information collections effective by October 2026.
