Financial Data Transparency Act Joint Data Standards
Nine U.S. financial regulatory agencies issued a final joint rule to establish common data standards for interoperability of financial regulatory data as mandated by the Financial Data Transparency Act of 2022. The rule specifies technical standards including the Legal Entity Identifier, Unique Product Identifier, ISO date formats, and machine-readable schema requirements for data collections reported by financial entities. These joint standards will serve as the basis for subsequent agency-specific rulemakings to adopt the standards into existing reporting requirements, with the joint rule itself becoming effective on October 1, 2026.
