Guidelines on Limits to Exposures to Shadow Banking Entities

Institutions subject to Part Four of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 must implement effective risk processes and set internal aggregate and individual exposure limits to shadow banking entities, with individual limits applying to exposures equal to or exceeding 0.25% of eligible capital. Management bodies must regularly review and approve these limits and risk appetites. Institutions unable to meet process requirements or gather sufficient information must apply the fallback approach under Article 395 of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013. These guidelines apply from 01/01/2017.
