Hong Kong’s AUM grew 20% to record high: SFC’s 2025 survey on asset and wealth management

The Securities and Futures Commission’s 2025 Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey reports that total assets under management in Hong Kong reached a record high of HK$42.2 trillion, a 20% year-on-year increase. Net fund inflows surged 193% to HK$2.1 trillion, with asset management and fund advisory AUM growing 19% to HK$31 trillion and private banking and wealth management AUM rising 24% to HK$12.9 trillion. The number of firms licensed for Type 9 regulated activities increased by 7% to 2,358, while the number of registered open-ended fund companies rose by 43%.
