Bank of Portugal Instruction No. 2/2026 mandates that significant institutions supervised by the ECB and credit institutions supervised by the Bank of Portugal submit specific authorization and notification procedures via the ECB's IMAS Portal. Mandatory submissions include applications for key management and essential control function holders, credit institution authorizations, qualified participation acquisitions, and branch establishment notifications. The instruction partially revokes Instruction No. 7/2021 to consolidate these rules, while allowing voluntary use of the portal for financial company authorizations and other entities not otherwise required to use it.
