Risk Management Controls for Brokers or Dealers With Market Access

The Securities and Exchange Commission extends the compliance date for specific requirements of Rule 15c3-5 to November 30, 2011, for all requirements concerning fixed income securities and for the requirements of Rule 15c3-5(c)(1)(i) regarding all securities. The compliance date for all other provisions of Rule 15c3-5 remains July 14, 2011. This extension provides broker-dealers with market access additional time to develop, test, and implement the required risk management controls and supervisory procedures.
