Credit institutions covered by Book II and Book III, Title II of the Law of 25 April 2014 must hold a tier 1 common equity capital buffer calculated by multiplying the risk-weighted amount of exposures to natural persons secured by residential real estate located in Belgium by 9 percent. This macroprudential measure applies to exposures calculated in accordance with Article 154 of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013. The regulation enters into force on 1 May 2022, contingent upon the adoption of the European Commission's implementing act, and ceases to produce effects on 30 April 2023.
