Security-Based Swap Data Repository Registration, Duties, and Core Principles

The Securities and Exchange Commission proposes Rules 13n-1 through 13n-11 under the Exchange Act to govern the registration process, duties, and core principles for security-based swap data repositories (SDRs). These proposed rules require SDRs to collect and maintain accurate security-based swap transaction data, verify and maintain that data, and provide access to relevant authorities and the public. The proposal establishes standards for data elements, system capacity, resiliency, and security, while addressing fee structures and business models for SDRs. Comments on the proposed rules are solicited on or before January 24, 2011.
