Administration of the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval System
The Securities and Exchange Commission proposes a new rule to specify administrative actions it may take to promote the reliability and integrity of EDGAR submissions. The proposal authorizes the Commission to redact sensitive personally identifiable information, prevent cybersecurity threats, correct system errors, and halt submissions involving access code disputes or potential manipulation. Additionally, the rule establishes a process for the Commission to notify filers and relevant persons of these actions as soon as reasonably practicable after they occur.
