Amendment to Procedures for Holding Funds in Dormant Filing Fee Accounts

The Securities and Exchange Commission amends 17 CFR 202.3a(e) to extend the inactivity threshold for filing fee accounts from 180 calendar days to three years. After this three-year period, the Commission will automatically initiate the return of funds to the account holder without requiring any action by the account holder. Account holders retain the right to request a refund of fees at any time, and account statements will not be sent again until a deposit, withdrawal, or other adjustment occurs.
