Electronic Submission of Applications for Orders Under the Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act, Confidential Treatment Requests for Filings on Form 13F, and Form ADV-NR; Amendments to Form 13F

The Securities and Exchange Commission adopted final rules requiring the electronic submission of applications for orders under the Advisers Act and Investment Company Act, as well as confidential treatment requests for Form 13F filings, via the EDGAR system. The Commission also mandated that non-resident general partners and managing agents file Form ADV-NR electronically through the IARD system and updated Form 13F to require additional identifying information and allow disclosure of share class level FIGIs. These amendments aim to modernize filing processes, enhance operational resiliency, and align requirements across different regulatory acts while updating confidential treatment instructions in light of recent Supreme Court precedent.
