Implementation of Section 10A of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934

The Securities and Exchange Commission adopts Rule 10A-1 and revises Rule 1-02 of Regulation S-X to implement reporting requirements under Section 10A of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Auditors must report specific uncorrected illegal acts to an issuer's board of directors, which must then notify the Commission within one business day; if the board fails to do so, the auditor must furnish the report directly to the Commission by the end of the next business day. The rule revisions become effective on April 17, 1997.
