Investment Company Reporting Modernization

The Securities and Exchange Commission proposes new rules and forms to modernize reporting by registered investment companies, including new Form N-PORT for monthly portfolio holdings and Form N-CEN for annual census data in structured formats. The proposal also amends Regulation S-X to require enhanced derivatives disclosure in financial statements and introduces Rule 30e-3, which permits funds to deliver shareholder reports via website. Additionally, the Commission proposes rescinding Forms N-Q and N-SAR to streamline regulatory requirements and improve data utility for investors and regulators.
