Prohibition Against Conflicts of Interest in Certain Securitizations
The Securities and Exchange Commission extends the comment period for its proposed rule implementing Section 621 of the Dodd-Frank Act regarding material conflicts of interest in asset-backed securitizations. The deadline for submitting comments on Proposed Rule 127B is moved from December 19, 2011, to January 13, 2012, to allow stakeholders additional time to analyze the proposal's interplay with the Volcker Rule. This extension aligns the comment deadline with that of the Volcker Rule Proposal to facilitate comprehensive public feedback on both regulatory initiatives.
