Qualifying Venture Capital Funds Inflation Adjustment

The Securities and Exchange Commission proposes a rule to adjust the dollar threshold for defining a qualifying venture capital fund under the Investment Company Act of 1940 to account for inflation. The proposal increases the aggregate capital contribution limit from $10,000,000 to $12,000,000 based on the Personal Consumption Expenditures Chain-Type Price Index as of December 2023. Additionally, the rule establishes a mechanism for the Commission to issue orders every five years to update this threshold for future inflation adjustments.
